There was once a caterpillar girl.
She went to school with worms, ants, ladybugs, and rollypollies.
But none of her classmates liked her.
They thought she was not pretty.
"Look at me, I am slimy!" Said the worm, "you aren't slimy."
"Look at me," said the rollypolly, "I have a shell, and I can roll into a ball. You can't do that!"
"Look at me," said the ant, "I'm so strong and red! You're boring!"
"Look at me," said the ladybug, "I'm red and polkadotted. You're plain!"
Even the teacher Mr. Mantis was a bright green.
And the caterpillar girl felt lonely, because she did not have anything the other classmates had.
But one day in the middle of class, she became slimy.
A hard cocoon covered her, thicker than the rollypolly's shell!
Then, she started to turn red!
And then, a pattern appeared.
It was scary at first. All her classmates were staring.
After a while, when it felt right, she pushed her way out of the cocoon.
She had become a butterfly, at last!
I hope to someday use watercolors and draw it out~!
I have a close family friend who is publishing a children's book, so I know she could help me if I am able to finish the project.
